Sewing Gift Guide: Great Gift Ideas For Sewists!

It’s that time of year again where people are starting to ask me for gift ideas for the sewists in their life! You might have read my gift ideas that I posted a couple of years ago (if not, you can click HERE to find it). I think I shared some great ideas of things that are very useful to sewists. I myself have everything on that list and use it all! If you haven’t seen that list, then I’d definitely recommend checking it out because it has some pretty basic ideas of things that will help in your sewing journey.

Most of my student’s parents (and other friends who have come to me for sewing gift ideas) have already exhausted this list. So, I thought I would share some other great sewing gift ideas that your sewist will love!!

So without any further ado, here’s my 2023 Sewing Gift Guide!

[Click on the pictures below to see where you can pick up these great gifts!]

Rolling Sewing Bag: I have this listed on my sewing supply list, but I thought it was a mention over here. For those who travel and take their machines with them, this bag is awesome to have!! It makes transport so easy!

Sewing Machine Mat: One of my students brought this to a Mom’s Night Out. I thought it was brilliant! It absorbs the noise and vibration of the sewing machine, and it comes with a trash can and pocket on the front to hold other tools. There are lots of cute fabric designs to choose from!

Bobbin Organizer: I have different boxes for my bobbins, but a student showed up with these and I love them because they hold the bobbin tightly and prevent the thread from unwinding and becoming a knotted mess. Even when you don’t travel with supplies, bobbins still tend to get tangled, so this is great for any sewist!

Sewing Machine Dust Cover: For those who leave their machines out on their tables during the day, it’s a great idea to keep it covered. This will help keep the dust away which keeps your machine clean and running properly. I have covers for all of my machines! There are lots of cute design options. Click on the link and you’ll be able to see them all from this company, plus more if you scroll down.

Thread Spool Savers: This is another way to prevent threads from unraveling on your spools. You can use them whether you travel with your spools/bobbins, or just keep them at home on your desk or spool rack. I have some and I absolutely love them. I definitely need more (hint hint to the hubby 😉 )

Christmas Sewing Machine Ornaments: There are sooo many cute ornaments to choose from! I have a few sewing ornaments, but I think I need to make a list for myself and start collecting them each year 😉

Needle Sorting Pin Cushion: I love this pin cushion! It’s perfect for those times when you are changing out the needles on your machine and you’re unsure of where to put your needle. This helps to keep them organized so you can remember which needle is which!

Vintage Embroidery Scissors/Needlework Gift Set: I thought this was super cute, especially for my hand-stitching students! It comes with all of the basic tools you need for hand stitching!

Sewing Tote Bags: You can never have enough totes, am I right? Again, there are a few to choose from, but this one comes with a zippered bag!

Loop Turner: this a great tool for any beginning sewist! It helps to turn loops, such as belts, ties, etc. It makes turning super easy!

Needle Threader: Again, for the hand-stitchers!! Although you can use this tool to help thread your machine needle as well!!

Personalized Sewing Labels: I loved this idea!! I have personal labels that I like to sew into things that I make (although it’s definitely time to reorder). This would be such a fun gift for people who sew often and want to represent themselves on their makes 🙂 (It’s also nice to sew them in gifts that you sew!)

Thread Spool Rack: A great way to organize your threads! You better believe I have a few of these! They can mount on the wall, or sit on a table.

Fashion Design Kit: I thought this was a fun gift for young, aspiring sewists and fashion designers! It’s a gift that would inspires creativity and imagination!

Sewing Socks and Accessories: Here are a few other sewing gifts that I thought were super cute. If my husband is reading this…I totally want that measuring tape clutch! Ha ha. Sock, gibbets, keychains and jewelry…lots of great ideas for gifts and stocking stuffers!!

Let me know in the comments if you found this Sewing Gift Guide helpful!! I hope this left you with some fun ideas for this year’s holiday gift giving. I’ll be looking forward to collecting some more ideas for next year’s gift guide, so if you come across anything, let me know!!
