If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know that sewing is one of my passions! You may know that I have an esty shop where I sell some of my creations. More recently, I’ve been working on getting my patterns organized and into files to sell in my shop. I love selling patterns on etsy because it’s so dang easy for the customer; you purchase, and it’s available right away for an instant download!
This week I added a pattern for a crayon wallet that I created a few years ago. These were a hot seller in my shop for a while, especially at Christmas time! I remember the first year I came up with these, I ended up making one for each of my nieces and nephews for Christmas. It was a lot of fun pairing different fabrics together to match each child’s personality. They are perfect to pack for on-the-go: long car rides, doctor’s (or other) appointments, in our church bags. My kids still use theirs on occasion. Aubrey (my teenager) now uses her flamingo wallet for cards and money.
Making a crayon wallet is pretty simple and can be done in half an hour. It’s a great project for beginners as well. I try to make my tutorials as simple and comprehensive as possible, so I include pictures for every step. A lot of time and detail goes into creating my patterns and tutorials and I am pretty pleased with the quality of what I am providing!
Now that I am teaching sewing classes again, my students have been asking me for tutorials for some of the simple projects we are making in class. I am working on adding FREE sewing patterns and tutorials on this site, but I’ll continue to share these shop patterns as well. Be sure to check back for my free tutorials. Better yet, subscribe to my blog and you’ll never miss a post! 😉
