Description
Join me in this beginning sewing class where students will learn to sew knit skirts! Knits are different than wovens, as knit material stretches and requires different stitch settings. If you/your student has never sewn with knits before, that’s okay! This is a beginner class where students will learn the proper stitch and settings to use for knit fabrics.
Students are encouraged to select their own knit fabric. There is a knit section of fabric at Joann’s where they can find acceptable knits. If you have questions on whether or not a particular knit fabric is acceptable, feel free to text me. However, if you aren’t able to get out, I will have some fabric available for purchase for $10 (charters may use their funds). They also will need a stretch needle (ballpoint or jersey) which I have linked below for your convenience. There is an option to add pockets if students would like to do that!
**Space is limited to 6, and I do need at least 3 signed up to move forward with a class. Because students may be purchasing fabric, I need sign ups to be completed at least a week before the starts of class (May 10th). If enrollment is too low by May 10th, I will cancel the class.
Grab your stretch needle here (or at Joanns):
